Hot and humid conditions continue ahead of weekend storms
What We’re Tracking
- Average like temperatures Saturday
- Storm chances late in the weekend
- Break in the heat early next week
Today brought the heat, with a Heat Advisory lasting through 8 PM. Overnight temperatures will stay quite warm, only falling into the upper 70s. Gusty south winds up to 30 mph will continue into the night, paired with dew points in the upper 60s. Making for a rather warm, windy, and humid evening.
Saturday will stay on the hotter side of average, with highs reaching the mid-90s. South winds will remain breezy, gusting near 30 mph once again. Humidity will stick around, with dew points climbing into the low 70s.
Our next good chance for rain arrives this weekend. Strong storms are possible Saturday night, and heavy rainfall is likely through Sunday as an upper-level trough moves overhead. While the rain may put a damper on weekend plans, it will also bring some relief from the heat. Highs on Sunday will dip into the upper 80s, and by Monday we’ll only top out in the lower 80s.
A few showers could linger into the start of the workweek, keeping Monday and Tuesday cooler and on the damp side. We will dry out for the second half of the week.
