A Heat Advisory goes into effect Friday and continues through Saturday for all of northeast Kansas. Heat index values could reach up to 107° in a few spots. Be sure to drink plenty of water and limit outdoor activities during the peak afternoon heat.
An upper-level ridge is settling over the area, bringing dry and sunny weather through the weekend. Friday’s highs will reach the middle 90s with a breeze out of the south gusting as high as 20-25 mph.
Saturday will be even hotter, with highs in the middle to upper 90s and heat indices well into the triple digits. The summer-like stretch continues into Sunday, with highs holding in the middle 90s and only minimal chances for rain.
