APD: Area reopened after report of suspicious package downtown

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- An area in downtown Austin is now reopened after a report of a suspicious package, according to the Austin Police Department.
An investigation by APD Bomb Squad "revealed the item was not an explosive device," which was reported in the 500 block of East Sixth Street, the agency said on social media.
"Remember, if you see something suspicious, say something by calling 911 or contacting an officer," APD said.
No other details were released Thursday.
