AUSTIN (KXAN) — In a press release Monday, Austin Police released more details about an early morning homicide that occurred in the 800 block of East Braker Lane on July 19.
Officers were dispatched to the scene around 2:10 a.m. after a woman called 911 to report that she had been shot and another person was dead, according to the release. When they arrived, officers found the 911 caller and another man, both who had been shot.
Austin Police identified the man as 20-year-old Comarri Thompson, the woman's boyfriend, in its release. The woman was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
"The investigation showed that the couple were in a vehicle at Braker Lane and Dessau Road when a white vehicle pulled up next to them and shot multiple times into their car, killing Thompson," APD's release said.
The shooter's vehicle then drove away, APD said.
APD previously told KXAN that it had detained multiple people in connection to the shooting.
Anyone with information about the shooting should call APD's homicide tip line at 512-974-8477, or anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at 512-472-8477. APD's press release said that a reward of "up to $1,000" may be granted for information that leads to an arrest.
