Interesting film screenings coming up in Marin

• Tiburon filmmaker Harris Cohen will show two of his documentaries on local personalities — “Phyllis,” about Art Works Downtown founder Phyllis Thelen, and “Joe’s Story,” about Joe Moist, the “Mayor of Fourth Street” — at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14 at the San Rafael City Hall Council Chambers at 1400 Fifth St. in San Rafael. • The 48th annual Italian Film Festival kicks off with “A World Apart” at 4:30 and 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at Dominican University of California’s Angelico Hall at 20 Olive Ave. in San Rafael.
