Before Amy Robach, T.J. Holmes had multiple affairs and ‘inappropriate moments’ with women at ABC, reports say

Amy Robach may have risked her career and reputation to be with T.J. Holmes, her “Good Morning America” co-host who had reportedly developed a reputation as an egotistical “serial cheater” at ABC. He had at least one other alleged affair with a female colleague, in addition to his extramarital relationships with Robach and with a former network producer.

Citing multiple sources, Page Six reported Monday that the “GMA3” host had at least one other alleged affair with an unnamed female staffer while working at the network and married to his wife, Marilee Fiebig. Us Weekly and Page Six also reported that Holmes’ secret, off-screen romance with Robach came after he cheated on Fiebig with producer Natasha Singh for three years and that he had “inappropriate moments” with “several” female coworkers.

Both Page Six and Us Weekly also reported that Robach, 49, knew about his infidelity with Singh and allegedly helped Holmes, 45, “cover up an indiscretion” in the past.

Representatives for Holmes did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment on the allegations of serial cheating, but it’s already been confirmed by multiple outlets that Robach and Holmes left their respective spouses, ahead of their relationship being revealed by the Daily Mail last week. Robach and her husband, Andrew Shue, reportedly “had problems” in their 12-year marriage for years, and the 55-year-old actor finally moved out of their family home over the summer.

News of Robach and Holmes’ relationship reportedly came as a shock to ABC executives, with President Kim Godwin telling staffers Monday that the duo had been taken off the air because their relationship had become “an internal and external distraction.”

CNN reported that the Daily Mail, ahead of publishing its story about Robach and Holmes’ secret romance, sought comment from ABC. When a network spokesperson tried to determine if the Daily Mail’s information was true, Holmes’ denial led to the spokesperson pushing back against the tabloid’s reporting, CNN also said..

The Daily Mail published its story anyway, including images and video of Robach and Holmes looking affectionate with each other at different locations in Manhattan and in upstate New York in November. After ABC executives saw the images, they were “taken aback,” people familiar with the situation told CNN.

In a statement distributed to ABC staffers, Godwin said that the relationship between “our two colleagues” had not violated  company policy. But she said she thought it would be best for Robach and Holmes to stay off air, “while we figure this out.”

It has also emerged Monday that Holmes’ removal from the air may not have been just because of his romance with Robach. An ABC source told Page Six, “No one likes working with him. He yells and has the biggest ego.”

It furthermore emerged that Robach and Holmes’ romance may not have been a recent development that blossomed when the two trained together for the New York City half-marathon in the spring. Page Six also reported that the two “had been plagued by internal speculation for years,” going as far back as 2017, Page Six said. “GMA” anchor Robin Roberts even confronted them about the rumors, Page Six added.

It could also be that this speculation was based on Robach becoming Holmes’ confidante while he was having an affair with Singh, who also was married, according to Page Six.

Holmes and Singh began seeing each other in 2016, when Holmes was a correspondent for “GMA,” and she was a producer for the show, based in Los Angeles, Page Six and Us Weekly reported. Page Six said that Holmes and Singh would meet up for trysts when he was traveling.

The affair continued after Singh left “GMA” in 2018, moved to New York and started working as a producer for  “CBS Mornings,” Page Six reported. With her in New York, Singh and Holmes were able to spend even more time together, Page Six added. Multiple sources also told Page Six that Holmes and Singh confided in Robach about their infidelity.

“Amy was the person they went to talk to about their affair and marriages,” an insider told Page Six. However, another source disputed the idea that Robach was their confidante and insisted “she didn’t know about the affair until it was in its final stages. They told her about it right at the end.”

In 2019, Holmes’ wife found out about his romance with Singh in 2019 after discovering several emails, Page Six reported. Holmes and Fiebig are parents to a daughter, who was born in 2013.

Holmes ended the affair, and he and Fiebig started working to reconcile their marriage. In March 2020, early in the COVID-19 pandemic, Holmes celebrated his 10th wedding anniversary with Fiebig by joking about how she “remained married” to him, despite his “best efforts.”

“That’s not hyperbole. I’m not being dramatic. I gave her plenty of reasons, excuses and opportunities to walk her fine ass out the doooooooor,” Holmes wrote in a Facebook post that has since gone viral, Us Weekly said. “But instead, with her built-in black woman superpower, she showed a grace and patience that’s incomprehensible.”

Several months later, Holmes was promoted to co-host gig “GMA’s” third hour with Robach.

Holmes and Fiebig “were fully together” in August when they celebrated his birthday with a trip to the Bahamas, Page Six reported. As rumors first began about Holmes and Robach, Fiebig never considered Robach a threat “because she was focused on Natasha,”  a source told Page Six.

“She never thought about (him cheating) with Amy because they were friends,” the source also said. “Amy’s daughter was their daughter’s baby-sitter.”

Robach was married to baseball player Tim McIntosh from 1996 to 2008,  and she shares daughters Ava and Analise with him. She married Shue, known for “Melrose Place,” in 2010. She also became the stepmother of Shue’s kids, Nate, Aidan and Wyatt, from his previous marriage to Jennifer Hageney.
