Two stabbed in apparent road-rage incident in Sunnyvale
Authorities arrested one suspect at the scene and another in Redwood City.
SUNNYVALE — Two men were stabbed during an apparent road rage incident Friday afternoon in Sunnyvale, according to police.
Officers were called to Lawrence Expressway and Arques Avenue around 3:25 p.m. for a report of several people fighting in the intersection, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said in a news release.
Two men were found suffering from stab wounds. They received medical aid at the scene and were taken to an area hospital, where they were listed in stable condition Friday.
Officers arrested one suspect at the scene. A second suspect left the scene before officers arrived, but he was later arrested in Redwood City. Both were booked into Santa Clara County jail on various charges including assault with a deadly weapon.
An initial investigation suggested the stabbing stemmed from a road rage incident, authorities said.
“There is no ongoing threat to the community, and all suspects are in custody,” authorities said.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information can contact Detective Gabe Limon at 408-730-7110.
