Tommy Lee Jones’ daughter had prior arrests in Napa County, sheriff says

Victoria Kafka Jones, the daughter of actor Tommy Lee Jones who was found dead early Thursday in San Francisco, had been arrested twice and involved in a third domestic-related incident in Napa County in 2025, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Henry Wofford said Friday that all the incidents occurred in Napa County and involved the same reporting party,

The two arrests involved misdemeanor offenses, officials said, adding there was no arrest in the third incident.

The younger Jones was found dead at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco shortly before 3 a.m. New Year’s Day.

Despite published media reports that she was discovered following a medical emergency call for a suspected overdose, Jones’ official cause of death, as of Friday evening, had yet to be released by San Francisco authorities.

Wofford said Jones’ most recent Napa County arrest took place June 13, after deputies were called, shortly after 8 p.m., to a hotel in the 4000 block of Sonoma Highway in Napa.

According to Wofford, an argument between Jones and the reporting party escalated. He said the person told deputies Jones slapped them twice.

Jones was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and booked into the Napa County jail.

Because the case involved suspected domestic violence, Wofford declined to release details about the alleged victim, including that person’s age and gender.

Several weeks earlier, on April 26, deputies arrested Jones following a late night call to a residence in the 1000 block of Los Amigas Road in Napa. The call came in shortly after 12:30 a.m. and was initially a wellness check for Jones, Wofford said.

When deputies arrived, Jones appeared to be under the influence of drugs and later admitted to using cocaine earlier that day, according to Wofford.

She was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance and resisting deputies.

Wofford said Jones refused to walk to a patrol vehicle and had to be escorted.

While searching Jones, deputies found a small plastic bag containing a powdery substance they believed to be illicit narcotics, according to court records. She was booked into jail without further incident.

Her first documented contact with sheriff’s deputies in Napa County occurred on Feb. 11, at the same Los Amigas Road address, Wofford said.

Deputies arrived at about 8:20 p.m. after a person called 911, saying an argument with Jones could escalate.

“This one, it wasn’t clear whether (there was) an intentional movement toward the face or what,” Wofford said. “But the deputy wrote in the report that before they left the scene, the victim re-contacted the deputy outside the residence, and the victim, in a calm voice said they did not want to pursue any criminal charges against Jones.”

No arrest was made.

Wofford said these three incidents were the only times Jones appeared in the Napa County Sheriff’s Office’s system.
