1 dead, 1 critically injured after crash on Georgesville Road in west Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – One person died and another was left in critical condition after a multi-vehicle crash Monday involving a semi-truck in southwest Columbus.
According to Columbus fire chief Jeffrey Geitter, a crash occurred at 12:42 p.m. at the intersection of Georgesville Road and Auto Mall Drive, where a car and a semi-truck collided. Geitter said two passengers of the car had to be extracted.
Both were taken to a hospital in critical condition, where one of them died, according to police.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the exit ramps from Interstate 270 to Georgesville Road were closed due to the crash.
