Escaping the French Budget Maze
A recent experiment involving 150 French citizens shows that when the conditions for achieving fiscal sustainability are clear and the trade-offs transparent, voters are prepared to support difficult budgetary decisions. What has been missing from the current process is not consent, but an effective method.
