Tyler Loop Enjoying Great Debut

Heading into the season, we discussed how the Baltimore Ravens would need another big season from Derrick Henry to help them finally get back to the Super Bowl. Well, he hasn’t been as effective as he was last season, but honestly, that’s pretty low on the list of things that have plagued Baltimore.

An injury-decimated roster was the main culprit in a 1-5 start as an offense that led the NFL in yardage last season is just 21st in this season, and the defense has been downright bad (26th in yards allowed).

Still, the Ravens have turned things around with four straight wins, and while their performance in Week 11 wasn’t exactly great, we can cut them some slack given the tough conditions with high winds in Cleveland.

At any rate, this win streak has B-More just one game back of Pittsburgh for the NFC North lead, so the situation is a lot less dire now – especially with two games still to play against the Steelers.

One thing that the Ravens surprisingly haven’t had to worry about this season is placekicker situation. After the Justin Tucker fiasco forced Baltimore to part ways with its long-time start kicker, it drafted Tyler Loop in the sixth round in the 2025 draft.

Loop connected on three field goals on Sunday – a week after hitting four – and he’s enjoying a splendid rookie season, going 19-for-21 on FGs (including a perfect mark inside 50 yards) while converting 25-of-26 extra points. Clearly, as you can see in the video below, his mojo is growing.

On Sunday, in addition to nailing field goals of 24, 25 and 44 yards, he was successful on both of his extra-point tries. Loop has great power, but the concern about him was FG accuracy, and so far, that hasn’t been a major factor unless we’re talking about super long attempts (1-for-3 from 50 yards or deeper).

Consider him a top five PK option (and must start) for Week 12.

Trouble in Tennessee

In mid-August we suggested that the Tennessee Titans would have a much better offense this season. Um… about that.

Flash forward to Week 12, and Tennessee’s offense is actually worse, as in dead last in the NFL in both scoring and yardage. The defense has regressed as well. Music City? Try Yuck City.

This ineptitude has definitely translated to the standings as the Titans have lost five straight to fall to 1-9, dead last in the AFC South by a mile, and a half game behind the Giants for the worse overall record in the NFL.

Fourth round pick in 2025 Chimere Dike was one of the additions that was supposed to provide a boost to this offense, but other than a two-game run last month when he hauled in a combined 11 passes for 163 yards and his only score, he’s been underwhelming with a 9.0 YPC on his 36 targets (tied for third on the team).

The wide receiver came out of the bye week and cleared concussion protocol, but suffered a chest contusion on Sunday that leaves him questionable for Week 12, although he has been practicing. If Dike plays, he’s listed on FanDuel at +500 as an anytime TD scorer.

A month ago, he looked like a nice Fantasy sleeper pick, and that certainly bore some fruit for those of you that took a chance on him. But things have gone south for Dike over the last two games, so it’s hard to recommend him as anything more than a desperation streaming option right now.

Still, he’s a name to watch in the second half, but can safely be ignored for now.
