TreVeyon Henderson Impending Breakout

In August we talked about how the New England Patriots were going to be better this season, but was anybody expecting this? Showing dramatic improvements on both sides of the ball, they have ascended to the top of the AFC East thanks to a current six-game winning streak.

And the most recent win was accomplished without presumed No. 1 RB Rhamondre Stevenson. Left to dominate the snap count, TreVeyon Henderson wasn’t exactly great in Week Nine, but don’t you dare sleep on him as a DFS value play this week.

The rookie enjoyed a breakout game in Week Eight (10 carries for 75 yards), so naturally we were expecting big things against Atlanta on Sunday with Stevenson ruled out. But this week vs. TB – who gives up more receiving yards to running backs than any team – Henderson could provide serious Fantasy value, especially given the potential he’s flashed as a check-down receiver (see video below).

With solid RB2 upside in Week 10, he’s someone you want to start. Ohio State product Henderson was a five-star recruit coming out of high school in 2019 because of his speed and explosiveness. His lack of size probably pushed him to the second round in this year’s draft, but if he has a statement game this weekend, he could be poised for a massive second half.

Sack Machine Aidan Hutchinson Is Healthy

When we last checked in on the Detroit Lions in early July, we expected them to have no trouble putting up points. Well, they aren’t the top scoring team in the NFL like they were last season, but second isn’t too shabby.

However, a defense that is giving up more points has cost Detroit, as this team has already lost more games (three) then it did in all of 2024. Even so, as per FanDuel, the Lions are -125 to at least get back to where they did last year (the Divisional Round) and +210 to advance to the NFC championship game.

While Detroit’s defense is being scored on more often, do not blame defensive end Aidan Hutchinson. The edge rusher was limited to five games last season thanks to a bad leg injury, but he’s healthy now and excelling.

With two solo tackles and another sack on Sunday, Hutchinson already has seven sacks (tied for seventh in the NFL), four forced fumbles and two stuffs through eight games, so he should easily blow past his career high of 11.5 sacks set in 2023. No wonder the Lions recently locked him up with a four-year extension. Hutchinson has forced his way into the top 50 as an IDP asset for Fantasy purposes.
