TikTok is facing a fresh European Union privacy investigation into user data transferred to China. The Irish Data Protection Commission opened the inquiry as a follow up to a previous investigation that ended earlier this year with a 530 million euro ($620 million) fine. The watchdog is investigating after TikTok told it incorrectly during the previous probe that it didn't store European user data in China. It's looking at the lawfulness of the data transfers under the EU's strict privacy regulations. TikTok did not respond immediately to a request for comment.
