Israeli strikes pounded the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, killing at least 34 Palestinians, according to local hospitals. Ten people were killed while waiting for care at a clinic in the city of Deir al-Balah, according to an aid group that runs the clinic. The Israeli military said it was targeting a militant when it struck near the medical center. The strikes come as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in Washington meeting with President Donald Trump. Hopes of an imminent 60-day truce are beginning to fade as neither side is making gestures to bridge gaps that have mired Gaza in conflict for more than 21 months.
