A federal appeals court has upheld the perjury convictions of former Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby, but the court overturned a mortgage fraud conviction and the resulting forfeiture of a Florida property. The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in a 2-1 decision on Friday that jury instruction in the mortgage fraud case was “erroneously overbroad” concerning the proper court venue. The case was tried in Maryland relating to property she bought in Florida. As a result of the decision, the forfeiture order relating to Mosby's Longboat Key condominium also was overturned.
