A Muslim inmate who won a U.S. Supreme Court case to grow a beard claims Arkansas officials retaliated against him by transferring him out of state. The American Civil Liberties Union says Gregory Holt, also known as Abdul Maalik Muhammad, was transferred to a federal prison in West Virginia after filing multiple lawsuits against the Arkansas Department of Corrections. The lawsuit, filed Thursday, argues the transfer disrupted his legal advocacy and violated his rights. The ACLU says Holt has been denied access to hygiene, religious services and legal documents since the move. Arkansas officials have not commented on the claims.
