Ecuador’s government is offering a $100,000 reward for information on a lawmaker whom authorities accused of raping a minor. The Interior Ministry on Sunday announced the reward in the case against Santiago Díaz Asque. His case became public after he was expelled from an opposition party earlier this week. On Wednesday, police raided three properties linked to the case, but prosecutors have not shared details. Díaz denies the accusation, calling it an attempt to silence him. If convicted, he could face up to 22 years in prison.
