The Palestinian Health Ministry says a 19-year-old Palestinian-American man was killed late Wednesday in the West Bank after he was shot by settlers. The Israeli military says its soldiers responded to a violent confrontation and tried to disperse a riot. Separately, the Committee to Protect Journalists reported that detained Palestinian journalists faced beatings, stress positions and medical neglect while in Israeli detention. The U.N. says Gaza’s destruction is so vast that clearing rubble alone will take seven years.
