A paramilitary post in northwestern Pakistan was attacked with a drone loaded with explosives, wounding several officers, officials said. The attackers later ambushed two ambulances carrying the wounded, killing three officers and wounding two rescuers. The assault took place on Monday in the Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which borders Afghanistan, district police spokesman Shaukat Khan said. No group immediately claimed responsibility, but suspicion is likely to fall on the Pakistani Taliban, known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, or TTP, which is separate from, but closely allied with, Afghanistan’s Taliban.
