Floods in Brazil’s Minas Gerais state have killed at least 40 people and forced thousands from their homes. On Wednesday, families begin burying victims as crews keep searching for about 30 missing. Officials say all the deaths so far are in Juiz de Fora and Uba. Authorities reported streets filled with mud and warned about more landslides. Local leaders suspended classes and moved families from risky areas into improvised shelters, including churches and schools. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva says security forces and health teams are helping.
