Jessica Simpson's Dating Confession Reveals Where She Stands Amid Eric Johnson Divorce
Jessica Simpson split with Eric Johnson after 10 years of marriage in January, and now, fans are getting an update on her dating life, with an answer they might not have expected.
The 45-year-old singer was spotted at LAX airport in Los Angeles on July 18 by paparazzi, looking chic for her flight. She sported dark sunglasses, an oversized silver blazer, and a long, white T-shirt hanging over her tiny shorts. Her toned legs were on display, and she got a few extra inches of height, thanks to over black platform cowboy boots.
The Daily Mail shared a video where she was asked about her romantic life, and Simpson’s answer was quite honest. “It’s a rough road in the dating world,” she admitted while revealing she’s “not getting on the apps yet.” So, don’t look for Simpson on Raya just yet. Instead, she would prefer a more conventional approach.
She added, “I would love for a friend to set me up. Are you kidding me?”
So, Simpson is definitely single and open to any possibilities right now. It’s a fresh start for the “With You” singer, who was married to the former NFL player for 10 years. They share three children: Maxwell, 13, Ace, 12, and Birdie, 6.
“Eric and I have been living separately, navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson told People in January. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
The former couple endured months of rumors surrounding their split after Johnson was spotted without his wedding ring in November 2024, and she was spending more time in Nashville, reigniting her music career.
The marriage breakdown was reportedly the result of them being “different people” with “different goals,” per Entertainment Tonight. “Jessica is motivated, and Eric isn’t,” a source noted. Johnson had been primarily a stay-at-home dad after he retired from his football career.
Now, Simpson is putting herself first and enjoying her single-gal era — but she seems ready for a little romance if the right person comes along.
