Christina Ricci Revealed the True Reason She Tries Not to Do Makeup in Front of Her Daughter Cleo
Back in 2024, Amy Adams made headlines for revealing how her daughter had makeup rules for her and how she wanted her mom to look more like her, especially without makeup. Lots of moms have worked to try no makeup and teach their kids how makeup should be a fun thing instead of a need, and most recently, mom of two, Christina Ricci, has done the same.
In a recent interview with People for her campaign with Merit’s Solo Shadow Sheen, the Wednesday star revealed that despite wearing makeup since she was a child, she says she tries to avoid using it around her daughter, Cleopatra.
“I try not to do it in front of her,” she said. “I don’t want to give her this impression that this is something that she’s expected to do as a woman and when she gets older.”
We love that Ricci is working to ensure her daughter grows up to be confident on her own terms, not on society’s terms!
For those who don’t know, Ricci and Mark Hampton eloped back in 2021, soon welcoming their “little penguin” daughter Cleo, born in Dec 2021. Ricci shares another son with her ex-husband James Heerdegen, named Freddie, born in Aug 2014.
In a previous interview with SheKnows, the Addams Family alum discussed the hecticness of balancing her family and career. “It is difficult,” Ricci said. “I am so lucky to have an amazing nanny and a really amazing, supportive husband. All I do when I’m able to be home is hang out at the house and hang out with the dogs and with the kids. I really don’t do anything else but that when I’m not working.”
