Dakota Johnson Is Moving on After Chris Martin — And She’s Been Spotted Getting ‘Very Close’ With Another Musician
It’s been six months since Dakota Johnson split with Chris Martin, and now she’s reportedly testing the dating waters with a new musician.
The 36-year-old actress is now sparking romance rumors with singer Role Model after TMZ caught them enjoying a “very close” dinner together. Role Model, also known as Tucker Pillsbury, isn’t a stranger to dating actresses either. He was in a three-year relationship with Emma Chamberlain from 2020 to 2023.
Johnson and the 28-year-old performer cozied up next to each other in a dimly lit restaurant as they dined with friends. According to the media outlet, the outing happened before the Christmas holiday. Deuxmoi posted a tip from a fan who claimed the duo were out together at Vandell in Los Feliz, a trendy neighborhood in Los Angeles, on December 19.
“Hard to tell what the vibes were,” wrote the tipster in a Deuxmoi Instagram post. “Both beautiful in person.” Deuxmoi added their thoughts about the pairing in the caption, “We can see it…”
Who is Role Model?
Role Model hit it big in the summer of 2025 with his indie pop hit, “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.” The song is about a woman he meets at a bar and spends the night with her. He falls in love with “Sally,” but those feelings are not returned. The Role Model told Billboard in May that the song is “based off some truth” after jumping back into the dating pool following his breakup with Chamberlain.
The song became a viral hit on TikTok during his No Place Like Tour when he had influencer Jake Shane join him on stage to play “Sally” during the song in Dallas. It became a nightly surprise for concertgoers as to who would play the role each night. Fans have seen Kate Hudson, Bowen Yang, Hilary Duff, and Charlie XCX jump in for the big moment.
Johnson isn’t likely to confirm the romance buzz around her dinner with Role Model since she and the Coldplay frontman kept a very low-profile during their on-again, off-again relationship. For now, she will keep fans wondering if she gets to play Role Model’s “Sally” in real life.
