Ms. Rachel Sings to Preschoolers With NYC Mayor Mamdani in an Uplifting New Video
Ms. Rachel is more than just one of the most popular YouTube content creators for toddlers — she’s also an activist who’s committed to a better world for kids and their families. The Glamour Women of the Year recipient, whose real name is Rachel Accurso, recently joined New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to sing to preschoolers and raise awareness about his latest initiative to help working families.
According to ABC 7, Mamdani joined Ms. Rachel at a school in Lower Manhattan on Friday, where they sang “Wheels on the Bus” and “If You’re Happy and You Know It.” At one point, they talked to the kids about how you feel, and Mamdani said he was happy because he recently announced universal child care for every 2-year-old in New York City.
“Giving makes us so happy, and giving child care makes everyone really happy in the city,” Ms. Rachel said.

It’s clear Ms. Rachel is using her platform for good. In the past, she has partnered with the humanitarian non-profit Save the Children to promote the stories of Palestinian children and uses her influences to speak out against the treatment of Palestinians in Gaza. She’s also working in her local community in New York, where Mayor Zohran Mamdani named Ms. Rachel as part of his inaugural committee, per The Hollywood Reporter.
“I’m passionate about helping every child. I see every child as equal. I can’t meet a child and not delight in them,” Accurso recently told USA TODAY. “The fact that kids don’t have food, shelter, just the basic needs and it’s 2026 and we figured out so many things – I want to help in every way I can.”
“I believe that all children have fundamental human rights and there’s never a reason to deny them of those rights,” she added. “It’s so simple that when we take care of children and allow them to meet their full potential, that’s the right thing to do.”
Accurso continued, “It’s going to benefit our kids, it’s going to benefit societies, it’s going to benefit the world. It’s so obvious that we need to take care of the children in the world. And it’s so frustrating to me that we don’t.”
