The 'Euphoria' Teens Are All Grown Up—Here's What Each Character Is Doing After the 5-Year Time Jump
Euphoria is back, its characters are done with school, and post-academia life is going… well, see for yourself.
On January 14, Euphoria’s season 3 trailer dropped, giving fans a first look at where the former teens are in the new season, which is coming April 2026 and skips ahead five years from where season two left off.
Here’s Where The Main Characters Are in Euphoria Season 3
Euphoria will pick up five years after the end of high school, as creator Sam Levinson explained to Variety, “Five years felt like a natural place because if they’d gone to college they’d be out of college at that time.”
Rue
When season 3 starts, Zendaya’s Rue is south of the border in Mexico, and as Levinson reminded us, “in debt to Laurie, trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off.” Rue stole from Martha Kelly’s character, a drug dealer, in season 2 and so gets thrust back into crime and danger when Laurie tracks her down.
The trailer seems to show Rue dealing drugs to get out of debt.
Cassie & Nate
After beginning a relationship in season 2, Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie and Jacob Elordi’s Nate Jacobs are still together and engaged.
“Cassie is living in the suburbs with Nate,” Levinson told Variety. “They’re engaged and she’s very addicted to social media and envious of what appears to be the big lives that all of her high school classmates are living at this point in time.”
The trailer implies that Cassie may be doing OnlyFans or some kind of online career as Nate walks in on her “making content” in lingerie. A later clip shows them on their wedding day. “I will say that Cassie and Nate do in fact get married,” Levinson revealed. “I’m confirming it. And I promise that it will be an unforgettable night.”
Jules
“Jules is in art school, very nervous about having a career as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility at all costs,” Levinson said of Hunter Schafer’s character. In the trailer, Jules appears to be living in New York and clips of her in a lavish penthouse are juxtaposed with a conversation between Rue and Maddy (Alexa Demie) about “sugar babies.”
Maddy
Per Levinson, “Maddy is working in Hollywood at a talent agency for a manager, she’s obviously got her own side hustles going.” No word yet on how she’s handling her ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend’s engagement.
Lexi
Cassie’s younger sister, Lexi, is also working in Hollywood as, per Levinson, “an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, who is just absolutely delightful and a true icon.” She’s seen reuniting with Rue in the trailer and, later, appears to be up to no good as Cassie and Nate’s wedding.
