What do you think of when you hear Valentine’s Day is coming up? Flowers and chocolates, handmade cards, an exciting secret admirer? All of those things are great, but nothing is as iconic as Brach’s Conversation Hearts. This nostalgic, heart-shaped candy in vibrant colors feature sweet messages and an even sweeter taste — and as a kid, these used to be my favorite Valentine’s Day treat. Now, your kids (and us too) can enjoy this iconic candy because Brach’s is bringing it back and better than ever.
The new Brach’s Sweet Bright Conversation Hearts feature a new, crunchy texture, six delicious flavors — blue raspberry, fruit punch, lemon-lime, orange, cherry, and pineapple — and the best part of all: sayings inspired by teen slang!
“With all the charm of the original but now with modern, dual-sided sayings, like ‘YAAAS’ and ‘QUEEN’, Sweet Bright Conversation Hearts are here to make every Valentine’s Day message pop,” Kelly Peyser, Director of Brach’s and Seasonal Marketng at Ferrara Candy Company, said in a statement. “Because nothing says ‘I <3 U’ like a heart that tastes as sweet as its message.”
The hearts will be dual-sided, with things like a winky face emoji, the American Sign Language symbol for “I love you,” and classic terms of endearment like “cutie” and “sweetie.”
According to the company, 80 percent of people who celebrate Valentine’s Day use conversation hearts to eat and gift, so I’m not the only one with fond memories of this sweet and tangy candy. Because nothing shares how you truly feel than a candy that literally says how you feel on top!
Conversation hearts are iconic. They are right up there with chocolate eggs on Easter and candy canes at Christmas. So this Valentine’s Day, grab a pack at Walmart or other retailers for your significant other, for your kids’ classrooms, and for anyone else you want to share the love with. And if they are big proponents of teen slang, even better!
