How Victoria Beckham Responded When Asked Directly About Daughter-in-Law Nicola Peltz: 'I Think Nicola Is...'

Much has been speculated about Victoria Beckham’s relationship with daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz, but what has the former Spice Girl actually said about Brooklyn Beckham’s wife?

Victoria and David’s 26-year-old son claimed in a bombshell January 19 statement that his parents have “been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding” and shared claims about his parents’ behavior surrounding his April 2022 nuptials.

“Since the moment I started standing up for myself with my family, I’ve received endless attacks from my parents, both publicly and privately, that were sent to the press on their orders,” Brooklyn alleged, claiming his parents “controlled narratives in the press.”

However, Victoria has been notably positive about Nicola, 31, in her public interviews, including as recently as December 2024.

“I think Nicola’s wonderful,” she said on Vogue’s The Run-Through podcast. “She’s so talented, she’s so passionate about what she does. And her and Brooklyn make each other super happy and that is wonderful to see. As a mother, all you want is for your kids to be happy, right? And that’s everything. So it’s lovely.”

Victoria did, however, seem taken aback when asked about the prospect of becoming a grandmother

“Jesus. What?! Woo!” Victoria joked while fanning herself. “Hang on!” She continued, “I don’t think it’s happening just yet. Unless you guys know something that I don’t, it’s not happening just yet.”

Brooklyn alleges that, behind-closed-doors, his parents have a very different view of Nicola than what they present in public.

“My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress,” Brooklyn wrote in his statement. “Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.”

“The night before our wedding, members of my family told me that Nicola was ‘not blood’ and ‘not family.’”

Brooklyn wrote that he was left with “no choice” but to stand up for himself and his wife. “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he said.
