When I wrote “What to Get Your Baby for Their First Valentine’s Day” last year, I really didn’t realize how much more fun the holidays get when your little potato turns into a walking, yapping toddler. I knew things would be different, but I didn’t get how much more interactive my daughter would be. Picking out the perfect Valentine’s Day gifts for my toddler has been an even bigger joy than last year (and I loved celebrating Valentine’s Day with my baby girl!).
My daughter is 17 months old, so she’s on the young side of a toddler—but she’s still toddling, figuring things out, exploring, and testing boundaries. So of course we’re going to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a small basket of toys, treats, and activities—and obviously some cute outfits. Your toddler may not need a sleep sack anymore, but my daughter still loves hers, and it’s a fun opportunity to incorporate the holidays. I love Kyte Baby’s designs, and their fabric is not-of-this-world snuggly-soft. It’s pricey, but I’ve noticed the better quality the sleep sack, usually the more breathable and comfortable it is—and this helps my kid sleep through the night. Plus, those bears!
Warmies Be Mine Curly Dog Plush Toy
Pop this dog plush in the microwave and your toddler will have literal hours of cozy, warm comfort. I send my daughter to preschool with a Warmies stuffy, since she still has separation anxiety, and her teachers tell me it truly does provide her with comfort.

I’ve found the best clothes for toddlers at GAP—especially for special occasions. The sizing is almost always consistent, the quality is there, and the designs are super cute. These heart-adorned overalls are perfect for Valentine’s Day, but make sense for any other day of the year, so you can get the most mileage out of ’em.

I didn’t get the need for specifically-designed-for-toddlers sunglasses until I gave my daughter a cute–but cheap—sunglasses. I actually gifted my now-17-month-old this potty for Christmas as an introduction, so she gets used to the idea of a potty before I actually show her how to use it.
