Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi Double Down on Returning to US Life Despite Recent ICE Remarks
Despite allegedly living their best life in the UK, it seems Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are coming back to the US, despite DeGeneres’ recent post. Earlier this month, it was reported pair bought producer Brian Grazer’s Montecito mansion for $27.4 million in an off-market deal at the end of November, which was later confirmed by Realtor. However, it’s not stopping there, and the timing of it all is, erm, a lot.
Let’s take it back: it first started with an Instagram post she made on her birthday, saying, “It’s a tough day to feel like celebrating a birthday. I’m holding space for what’s happening in our world and holding close what I’m grateful for. Like my wife. And cookies.”
Then, she made a post saying, “Minnesotans need our help. Let’s show them they’re not in this alone,” which had a photo of the “Nationwide Shutdown,” which called for no work, no school, and no shopping to show the initiative of “ICE OUR EVERYWHERE.”
However, DeGeneres seemingly didn’t follow up on her own post because she was photographed via the New York Post working with her realtor to snatch up another Montecito mansion.
It seems that despite calling for a nationwide buying shutdown to protest ICE, she was spotted with a realtor scoping out a $35 million beachfront five-bedroom mansion.
For those who don’t know, DeGeneres and Rossi met back in 2001 at a Rock the Vote concert. However, they didn’t get together until 2004 after breaking up with their respective partners. When they reconnected in 2004, they split with their respective partners, and they started dating. The pair later got engaged, and married in Aug 2008.
As we said before, after Trump’s victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, DeGeneres and Rossi left all their California properties behind to move to the UK, later confirming the election was the reason.
