Jason Bateman’s Sex Talk With Daughter Maple Involved Telling Her ‘The Penis Just Screams’
When Jason Bateman approached the sex talk with 14-year-old daughter Maple, who he shares with wife Amanda Anka, it did not go according to plan. The Ozark star revealed that he accidentally told her “the penis just screams” during intercourse, and we are getting second-hand embarrassment just hearing him explain it.
In a Feb. 26 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he recalled checking in with his daughter after she had sex education at school, writing that he “didn’t want to tell her anything [he didn’t] need to.”
He said believes his daughter “played dumb” on purpose to get him into talking about the awkward subject. When it got to the part about male ejaculation, the Arrested Development star shared the unconventional way he explained it.
“When the male member is inside of the woman’s member, it’s so lovely. There is so much love. … The penis just screams,” Bateman recalled telling his daughter. “And it’s the equivalent of the penis just yelling, ‘I love you!’ And it yells the love into the woman and then you get you, baby.’”
Yikes! You would think that Bateman would have been prepared for this conversation, especially since he is also dad to 19-year-old daughter, Francesca, but apparently, he just word-vomited an explanation. No worries, we’ve all been there, Bateman!

Maybe next time he wants to chat about the birds and the bees, he can go to his long-time pal Jennifer Aniston. In an Aug. 2025 interview with Vanity Fair, Bateman revealed that the Friends alum is a “co-mom” to his daughters.
In the interview, Bateman explained, “She’s the first one to call or text about big dates in the girls’ lives. She has questions about boyfriends. Aunts you might not see all the time. She’s almost closer to a co-mom with Amanda. She’s been a part of their lives from the moment they were born.”
Then, Aniston quipped that she gives Francesca and Maple her hand-me-downs. “Well, there’s my bikini,” she said. “Your child is now wearing my bikinis. Whoa. We’ve come a long way.”
