The Pioneer Woman's Steak Fettuccine Alfredo Looks so Gourmet, But She Says It's 'Surprisingly Easy to Make'
Often, dinner becomes something you have to get through rather than something you truly enjoy. No judgements — that’s just part of life for busy moms! But on the rare occasion you do have more time to cook and want to prepare a practically gourmet mood at home, then Ree Drummond (aka, The Pioneer Woman) has a solution. She just shared her Steak Fettuccine Alfredo recipe that looks so good and is actually so easy to make.
“Want a meal that looks fancy but is surprisingly easy to prepare? Steak fettuccine Alfredo will win over everyone at the dinner table. ????️” the Instagram post on The Pioneer WomanMagazine’s official page was captioned.
“Sizzling slices of steak are plopped over a bed of creamy noodles—what more could you ask for?” the post asked. “If you want to save time, you can make the meal up to three days ahead!”
The dish looks so good with sliced steak a top a yummy noodle base. Start by cooking the pasta over a pot of boiling water, then draining and reserving part of the pasta water. From there, you’ll prepare the steak (she recommends a 12-ounce strip or sirloin steak) with Cajun seasoning and other ingredients over a large cast-iron skillet.
Drummond details directions on how long to cook on each side and what temp the meat thermometer should read depending on how you like your steak cooked. Once it’s done, let it rest on a cutting board for at least five minutes before slicing.
The last step involves cooking the sauce in a large skillet with butter, chopped shallot, wine, and other ingredients, adding parmesan cheese at the end. Once the cheesy, creamy sauce is done, you’ll add the cooked pasta to the skillet and coat it in the sauce. Now you’re ready to serve! Layer pasta first on a plate, then top with sliced steak and more seasoning (including extra cheese if you want). Serve with your favorite wine for a meal that is elevated from your usual, but still fairly easy to throw together!
