Body Language Experts Dissect Vanessa Trump & Tiger Woods’ ‘Awkward’ Interaction During Family Outing
While everyone was so shocked by the news of Tiger Woods and Vanessa Trump getting together, they’ve been in their own little bubble. In case you missed it, Woods and Vanessa were seen posing at the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, California; and people are totally picking apart the interaction. In fact, body language expert Judi James dissected their appearance to DailyMail, calling the rare outing “performative.”
It was an “awkward-looking body language display for the cameras.”
“His expression appears wary after he finishes his solo posing and prepares to immerse himself in the family stuff. Vanessa arrives ‘oven-ready’ with a beaming smile on her face and her arm held out in an announcement gesture to signal intention to adopt a loving and affectionate look,” she said to the outlet. “She flicks her hair back over her shoulders in a breezy preparation of posing here but it is a while before the couple’s smiles achieve a mirrored look and Woods continues to look a little awkward while Vanessa appears in charge of the posing and the choreography.”

She added, “[Vanessa] waves her daughter into shot to create the suggestion of a strong family unit and we can see Vanessa upgrade the emotional content by forming a possessive ritual with her arms while tilting her head in towards Woods in an act of closeness and trust… The final money shot will look like a close, loving family photo although the building of the pose throws up signals of awkwardness and even some wariness.”
For those who don’t know, Vanessa and Woods met in the 2020s, but it’s unclear if they met during one of Woods and US President Donald Trump’s golfing hangouts or through their kids. (Turns out, their kids go to the local Benjamin School, where Vanessa’s daughter Kai is a skilled golfer.) They officially got together in 2024, and made their romance public in 2025.
Woods made their Instagram debut in March 2025, saying, “Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”
