Why Leonardo DiCaprio Is Skipping the 2026 Actor Awards Despite Numerous Nominations
While we’re mere hours away from the 2026 Actor Awards, which will stream live on Netflix today at 8 pm EST, it seems quite a few nominees won’t be in attendance. Despite Ariana Grande’s nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her role as Glinda in Wicked: For Good, she will be prepping for The Eternal Sunshine Tour. And another nominee just RSVP’d no: Leonardo DiCaprio.
DiCaprio is nominated for for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for One Battle After Another, as well as an ensemble award with the fellow stars of the movie, the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture award.
However, it seems that despite attending every other award show this season. According to People, he will be filming the upcoming Martin Scorsese film, What Happens at Night, in Europe, alongside Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, BAFTA-nominated actor Mads Mikkelsen, Emmy-nominated actor Jared Harris, and Oscar-nominated actress Patricia Clarkson. (Talk about a lineup!)

Other actors nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role category are: Timothée Chalamet in Marty Supreme, Ethan Hawke in Blue Moon, Michael B. Jordan in Sinners, and Jesse Plemons in Bugonia.
As for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, along with One Battle After Another, the cast of Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, and Sinners were nominated.
