Harry Styles’ New Song Hints His & Olivia Wilde’s Breakup Had Everything to Do With Her Kids
While Harry Styles is reportedly dating Zoe Kravitz and Olivia Wilde has happily been with Caspar Jopling for a few months, there was a time that Styles and Wilde were the “it” couple. But just as fast as they got together, things fell apart and many wondered why. Well, his new song shows it may have been about his major apprehension of becoming a stepdad to Wilde’s kids.
(For those who don’t know, Wilde and her ex-fiance Jason Sudeikis welcomed two children together: a son named Otis Alexander, born in 2014, and a daughter named Daisy Josephine, born in 2016.)
Now, on March 4, Styles released his fourth studio album called Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally and all eyes are on the 11th track: “Paint by Numbers.” The lyrics go “You’re the luckiest, oh, the irony/ Holding the weight of the American children whose hearts you break/ Was it a tragedy when you told her/ ‘I’m not even thirty-three’?”

With these lyrics, many believe his and Wilde’s split had to do with him not being ready to make that big step as a family; and in true internet fashion, everyone is talking about it.
Styles and Wilde dated from Jan 2021 to Dec 2022. After sparking a connection on set while filming Don’t Worry Darling, they were first spotted at a wedding together in Jan 2021. During their relationship, the pair seemed really strong together, with Wilde attending many of his concerts and packing on plenty of PDA in public sightings. But, as we said, at the end of 2022, the two broke things off.
“He’s still touring and is now going abroad,” a source explained to People. “She is focusing on her kids and her work in L.A…. It’s a very amicable decision.”
However, another insider said it wasn’t so amicable, saying, “They have had some issues, but Olivia thought they were gonna work through it all. She is disappointed.”
And with this new song? Many are wondering how amicable it really was.
