Elijah Wood Gives Extremely Rare Details on Two Kids: ‘They’ve Entered Kid-Dom'
Many may not know this, but Elijah Wood is a proud dad of two, and he revealed what’s changed in recent years.
In a recent interview with The Times, Wood gave super-rare details on what his family of four is doing today, saying, “We’re well out of toddlerville, and they’ve entered kid-dom. It’s incredible.”
Not only that, but he also revealed if they’ve seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies. He said, “They have not [seen it]. But only because I genuinely don’t think they’re old enough. I feel like it might be appropriate when they are 8.”

For those who don’t know, Wood and Danish producer Mette-Marie Kongsved started dating in 2018 after meeting a year earlier on the set of I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore in 2017. They later married on New Years’ Eve 2024 while in Sweden.
Before their wedding, they welcomed a son in 2019 and a daughter in 2022; but they haven’t revealed their names to the public to keep their privacy.
Now, he and Kongsved actually didn’t reveal they welcomed their second child until over a year later. In a 2023 interview with WSJ. Magazine, he subtly revealed the news: “We’ve got a 3-year-old son and a 14-month-old daughter, and she wakes us up pretty early. I like getting up early, I like starting the day.”
He added how fatherhood has changed him, saying, “You’re constantly being challenged, in the best way. It’s as much my own personal growth as it is about my child’s growth.”
