Jeff Bezos' Wife Lauren Sánchez Bezos' Romantic Tie To Bill Clinton Revealed In Lawsuit
Jeff Bezos’ wife, Lauren Sánchez Bezos, was allegedly once romantically interested in Bill Clinton, according to a former friend’s lawsuit.
Yoga instructor Alanna Zabel took legal action against Sánchez, claiming that the Amazon founder’s wife stole her idea for a children’s book. Per Page Six, the lawsuit claims that Sánchez revealed she had a romantic interest in the former president after meeting him in 2009. Zabel claims, in the lawsuit, that she gave Sánchez the nickname “Monica” in reference to Monica Lewinsky, a White House intern with whom Clinton had an affair, leading to his impeachment.
“In communications with Sánchez, Zabel sometimes used the name ‘Monica’ to refer to Sanchez,” the lawsuit states.
Zabel claims that Sánchez, who was still married to Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell at the time, “seemed to have enjoyed this nickname.”
“She said [Clinton] was so sexy and mesmerizing,” Zabel separately told The New York Post of the former entertainment journalist, per Page Six.
“She really wanted to meet him and get an interview … She couldn’t stop talking about Bill Clinton.” Sánchez went on to interview Clinton for Extra TV in 2010.

In September 2024, Zabel filed a lawsuit claiming that Sánchez’s 2024 book, The Fly Who Flew to Space, misappropriated a book concept she thought of over a decade earlier and shared with Sánchez.
Per The Los Angeles Times, Zabel claimed Sánchez ripped off her idea in retaliation for her resigning as Sánchez’s yoga instructor years before. She says she quit because of the media personality’s “continual and outrageous acts of jealousy,” according to court documents.
Zabel is suing Sánchez for theft of ideas, theft of intellectual property and intentionally inflicted emotional distress. She is seeking compensatory and punitive damages exceeding $35,000. She is also seeking a statement from Sánchez crediting the original idea for her book to Zabel.
“This experience with Lauren is the straw that broke the camel’s back. She is not the first celebrity to knock off my work or run with my pitches, but she is the last,” Zabel said in a September 2024 statement to The Los Angeles Times. “I have dedicated my life to teach people to live true to who they are, inspire children to live compassionate and honest lives, as well as having done the challenging personal work to live true to myself — by denying seductive people and situations that lack integrity. I am not motivated by money or status; I am motivated by truth.”
