We had some very good chances to win Test matches on the last trip, but Haddin and, particularly, Johnson were the big difference.
Brisbane: Aus 132-6, won by 381 runs.
Perth: Aus 143-5, won by 150 runs.
Melbourne: Eng 173-3, all out 255...first innings lead of 50. Aus won by 8 wickets.
Sydney: Aus 97-5, won by 281 runs.
It really was more competitive, at times, than people remember.
There will be chances on this trip too, but without Stokes I can't see us overcoming their attack consistently enough to win matches.
If we can get out of the GABBA with pride intact, and Stokes is available again, then who knows.
Aus 4-1.
The contribution of the Aussie lower order/tail was a huge factor in that series.
