Meditation- give it a chance (16 replies)
Bear with me. I’m not the hippy spiritual type. Remember Tim Robbins character in High Fidelity? Nothing like that.
Anyway at first it felt like a chore. It was boring just sitting there breathing. I was always hoping the timer would go off to signal the end of the 10mins.
Bbut somehow i stuck with it. I think i started to feel little benefits like feeling more at ease and brighter moods.
I now do it everyday for 25 mins and sometimes more and it is one of the best bits of my day. The difference it makes is incredible and I’m almost off the meds. I don’t know why it works but it does. And it is scientifically proven to work. Anyway I won’t bang on but if i can get one person to take it up, stick with it through the boring early bits and feel the difference then I’d be made up.
If you want a good book to help try ‘The Illuminated Mind’ by Jeremy Graves. Or just try the Calm app and on your phone. That’s where i started.
