Derby day 1984
I love the commitment of the whole team, especially Howard Gayle and Robert Hopkins. Just look at the gaps on those terraces though. Just three weeks after we had 40k there in the Watford cup game, this crowd was a little over half that figure for a derby game. The steep decline in attendances and fortunes was just beginning to set in. Even the fact that vile had shirt sponsors whilst we didn't was indicative of how they had more money in those days. So this was a very welcome victory, especially as it was our only win following the cup defeat.
