Virgin etc (13 replies)
Took the advice here and talked to Virgin. Had come out of a fixed contract and was paying way over the odds so overdue (and was about to get a big increase) - anyway they initially said the other day they would reduce my bill to £62 per month, though today when I wanted to clarify a few things and see if I could reduce it further (partially by reducing my service) they told me there had been a ‘mistake’ and the lowest they could do was £69.
Not too chuffed so went to sky - they offered me same deal for £40 (new customer big difference of course) which was broadband/non sports sky tv/Netflix/landline. Speeds lower but my tech kids say the ones I get will be fine - so no brainier? Skysports +£20 which seems ok-ish? It’s an 18 months fixed contract but in that time we have ‘city fibre’ coming here which looks like it might change things a lot.
This industry is a joke. They just make numbers up. Given the joke though the Sky deal looks good - any wise (wiser than me) comments v welcome,!including experience of sky which I presume is as good/bad as all the others?
