Seems to me that this was quite a small, isolated situation in Blackpool where one person has died through something that in 99.9% of the time you'd not expect such a disastrous outcome. Lots of people's lives have changed for the worse & likely for the rest of their lives.
Those actively involved in football violence must understand the risks of serious injury to themselves & others. The random chucking of things at each other has always struck me as almost the worst of these sort of things as the chances of hitting innocent bystanders is high.
All that said, I went to the Manchester pub once in the mid 90s on a stag weekend and it was awful. Never to be repeated.
