Re: Cyclist Cov Rd RIP
RibeyeYet another death on the Cov road. This time a 12 year old on his bike last night.
The driving around Birmingham is a disgrace and I see cars regularly skip red lights. This may not of been what happened last night but I'd say it's likely. The lights at the junction of kings road always have bad accidents and the railings are always battered where cars have crashed.
It seems bus lanes and average speed cameras mean nothing to some people as the don't follow the rules. Every night I sit in traffic from the mosque at small heath up to the Swan at Yardley and cars race up the bus lane.
The subject really pisses me off because my lad was hit by a dickhead with no licence or insurance who was speeding and on the wrong side of the road back in 2013 (he was 11 at the time) the bloke also left the scene.
Although he suffered life changing injuries at least he's alive, I hate to think what the parents of the child who died last night are going through right now, there can't be a worse feeling.
RIP
Move to politics if need be.
I recognise what you say about driving in Brum. We live in Tamworth and it’s totally different. Mrs Fence works in Heartlands hospital and occasionally l take her and collect her. Coming off at Jct 5 past the clock garage and Hodge Hill it starts, and when you get to the bottom of Stechford and onto Cotterills Lane it’s like entering another world. You certainly need your wits about you.
