Re: BCFC: The Season Ticket Conundrum – Price vs Value
Rab C NesbittEl MayorIt’s an important point though. Lots of sth don’t go sometimes because of our negativity. It’s not enjoyable watching us with no style of play or even trying to play football sometimesIndefatigableThrillhouseThis is just a general point, I sat in the Main Stand upper section for the first time ever for the Sheff Utd game in May. I couldn’t believe how awful the concourse/refreshment area was, compared to even the Tilton/Kop. If we’re going to refresh anything, start there.
I've had my season ticket in the "Main Stand", the very name is a joke, for years until I gave it up last season.
Truth be told you never notice how crap the facilities are, or the bomb site that is an excuse for a car park at the rear of the stand, or the walk through dereliction that is Small Heath, when Blues win.
And there is the nub of the issue.
Most people rock up to the ground 15 minutes before kick off exclusively to see the Blues. They don't want street food, craft beers or pre match entertainment. It's the Blues they go for.
If we tried to win home games instead of the shoite that we have to suffer match after match, season after season, a lot of the gripes would disappear.
While I undoubtedly believe winning games is a big plus to building attendances, I don't think you can claim what most people want based on what you think - that's generalising.
Yes they do, and as I said above I undoubtedly believe winning games is a big plus to building attendances.
That doesn't mean the club can't do other things to entice people back as well, does it?
Also - I don't expect things to be what every fan wants; but if it brings in a proportion of people to spend money who wouldn;t have previously, isn't that the idea?
