Fading Memory (no replies)
- Night Match with me stuck in a mega queue at the Cattell Road 'funnel' with many not getting in until halftime. It might have been the Carlisle game when Trev scored from the halfway line. Suddenly heard what was like a dog barking followed by rising laughter. Some cheeky fecker had a dog collar around his neck and his mate had him on a lead. As people turned to see what was happening the masses parted and the two of them got straight to the front of the Queue and in by kickoff. Who takes a dog collar to a match? (Pre punk).
- Another night match (may have been a Vile derby). Loads got onto the Tilton roof and i seem to recall someone falling through it???
- Bristol City away on a Good Friday where a massive police presence herded us into the ground. Kenny Burns scored the winner. After the match not a copper in sight and it kicked off big style. Never would class myself as a sprinter but i was that night.
- Home game Norwich City and a big crowd. For some reason a single Norwich Fan was in the Kop corner with his big yellow and green scarf. Two tough guys decided to push him over and nick his scarf. A few minutes later from the back of the Kop some of the old faces dragged the tough guys out, down the steps and made them give the scarf back. They then suggested to the stewards that he might be safer in the away end.
Finally after a great week for Blues i may be able to erase the memory of Calderwood and Bryant being dropped and focus on brighter days.
PS - Uncle Tom we need a striker (or two)
