Get Ready for Charli XCX’s Big Fat Italian Wedding
Did you really think Charli XCX would have only one wedding? After tying the knot with the 1975’s drummer, George Daniel, in an intimate ceremony in London earlier this summer, it looks like the couple is yet again celebrating their love with a massive party in Sicily.
While there haven’t been any images of her in a second wedding dress quite yet, multiple sources have claimed that the singer has been planning a big fat Italian wedding. The couple specifically “fell in love with Sicily,” per the Sun, and that just so happens to be where they are right now with a bunch of their friends. The singer announced their arrival on the Italian island on Thursday with an Instagram photo dump captioned, “bellaaaaaaaaaaaaa.” The slideshow included photos of Devon Lee Carlson and Gabbriette drinking martinis, a little dance between the happy couple in what appears to be a Baroque-style palazzo, and a trio of spritzes resting on a garbage can. Everything is romantic.
A source previously told People that the couple has always dreamed of throwing a big wedding in Sicily, so the chances that it’s happening this weekend are high. “Somewhere beautiful and private, where all their friends can let loose,” they said. “It will be star-studded. This was always the plan.” While it’s unclear which stars will be attending, Benito Skinner commented on Charli’s post alerting her that he was “cominggggg.” Lorde, on the other hand, suggested she will not be in attendance. She commented, “My fomo activating.”
It feels safe to say that our weekend feeds will be filled with cigarette smoke and strobe-y videos of the couple’s afters. I can’t wait.
