Julia Fox’s New Bob Is Serving
Big Chop got to Julia Fox for the second time this year. In January, Fox stepped onto the red carpet at the Presence premiere with a platinum-blonde pixie. After months of growing it out, she was spotted in New York on December 5 with a deep-black, jawline-grazing bob. I wonder if she, like every other woman in the city, was inspired by Rama Duwaji’s stylish cut. (Guilty.) I’m trying to grow out my bob from two years ago, and it’s a daily struggle not to emulate the incoming mayor’s wife. Maybe Fox just couldn’t resist.
The rest of the actress’s look felt like a reference to the days of yore (the aughts) when young ladies would show up to the club in business-casual outfits — Fox wore an oversize leather jacket and black leather pencil skirt along with a striped button-down and untied necktie. Adding to the nostalgia were her thin, arched brows; bold lashes; and ultranude-lip look.
Her love for pale nudes is well documented. Earlier this year, Fox modeled for a M.A.C campaign celebrating the brand’s relaunch of archival nude shades from the ’90s and early aughts. She, of course, was in the buff for the advertisements, save for a sultry smokey eye and a lip that looks just like the one she wore this past Friday. “The shades [in the collection] are raw, sexy, and unapologetically me,” she told The Cut in January, and that obviously still holds true. And if you see me this weekend with a fresh new bob and concealer on my lips (remember that?), you know where I got the idea.
