Did Alix Earle and Braxton Berrios Break Up?
No one is immune to the annual holiday-breakup spree that is the turkey drop — not even, it seems, influencer and Dancing With the Stars runner-up Alix Earle. In TikTok comment sections and in the tabloids, rumors are running amok that Earle and Houston Texans wide receiver Braxton Berrios have called it quits after two years of dating. While neither party has commented on the matter directly, sources from both camps have seemingly confirmed the news to a variety of gossip rags. And on Wednesday, Earle wrote in a TikTok caption that she’s “rlly going thru it.” Let’s get to the bottom of things, shall we?
For the uninitiated, Earle and Berrios first met at a party in February 2023, after which she started referring to a mysterious “NFL man” in her TikToks. Several months later, the duo hard-launched their relationship by stepping out together at the 2023 ESPY Awards in July. Everything seemed to be going swimmingly until Earle began her stint on DWTS. Over the course of the season, Earle’s followers noticed that Berrios hadn’t attended a single taping to support his girlfriend, though she repeatedly told press that he was tied up with the Texans schedule. During the finale episode, where Earle and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy took home second place, Berrios finally sent in a prerecorded message rooting for his partner.
But less than two weeks later, sources told People and “Page Six” that the pair were broken up and that the split had been mutual and mostly “distance-induced.” On Tuesday, a separate source told Us Weekly that the couple had simply grown apart: Earle “really wants to spend more time in LA, while Braxton lives in Florida.”
Earle hasn’t addressed the breakup yet, but she did post an emotional TikTok video detailing her experience on the show shortly after the finale aired. “There were a lot of points throughout the season that I was sitting with myself and in these thoughts and started to realize these things or realize what I wanted in life, and I think as those thoughts would come up, I think it was scary,” she said. “There was just a lot that happened in my personal life throughout the season that I am happy — I think — that I didn’t share for television.”
Her most recent video does suggest she’s going through some post-breakup self-discovery — Earle wrote that all she wants to do for her 25th birthday is “workout, meditate, play card games, & have good convos w the ppl closest to me” over a soundtrack of affirmations. Understandable!
