What a Time for Marjorie Taylor Greene to Get Engaged
It’s engagement season for this country’s most prominent Republicans. On Monday, President Donald Trump announced that his son Donald Trump Jr. was newly engaged to Florida socialite Bettina Anderson. That same day, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has spent the past few months feuding with Trump, announced her own engagement. Huh!
Greene is newly engaged to the conservative journalist Brian Glenn, who appears to have popped the question at a restaurant right after their entrées were delivered. I would have waited for the plates to be cleared, but I guess that’s just personal preference. Glenn posted a photo of the couple on Monday afternoon, writing, “She said ‘yes.’” Greene quote-tweeted that post, adding, “Happily ever after!!! ❤️ I love you @brianglenntv!!!”

Greene’s daughter Lauren also shared Glenn’s post, adding a screenshot of a FaceTime with her mother that gave us a close-up of the ring. It looks huge.

Greene and Glenn began publicly dating in 2023 after they both began divorcing their longtime spouses. Glenn recently recalled seeing Greene for the first time to the Washington Post, saying, “She was, like, mystical — like a unicorn or something like that, you know?” He said that they bonded over their love of guns, Nickelback, and their shared belief that Trump was “the guy” for them.
However, Trump is no longer “the guy” for Greene. Since clashing with him about his handling of the Epstein files in September, she’s become one of the most critical conservative voices against the president, calling him out on foreign policy and the state of the economy. Last month, Greene announced she would resign from Congress in January, opting to leave her position instead of subjecting her district to “a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for.”
Despite having a downright chummy relationship with the president, Glenn has apparently decided to choose love over politics (and his job). In the Washington Post profile, Glenn compared Trump and Greene to divorced parents and said he had made his choice. “Well, I gotta go with ‘Mom’ here,” he told the paper, saying that he plans to move to Georgia with her after she leaves Congress. It turns out that love conquers all, even for the morally reprehensible.
