Tottenham Hotspur said goodbye to White Hart Lane in 2017 before demolishing the iconic venue to make way for the brand new stadium.
Despite experiencing delays which saw Spurs have to extend their stay at Wembley, many fans will agree that the wait was worth it having stepped foot inside the new 62,062 capacity seater stadium.
The stadium cost a reported £1billion and compared to the £390million which North London rivals Arsenal spent on building the Emirates (Sky Sports).
Former Gunners defender Lee Dixon was present at Tottenham’s new home for Saturday’s 3-2 win against Bournemouth.
The 55-year-old took to Twitter to voice his displeasure at the fact that despite almost doubling the capacity of the stadium, there has been little done to improve the transport infrastructure whilst claiming it took almost two hours to depart.
Dixon could also not resist a dig aimed at the Spurs faithful when he described the atmosphere at the stadium as being like a library and claimed he hoped for better considering it was Jose Mourino’s first Premier League game in charge in N17.
The new WHL. Twice as many fans as the old WHL. Same road and train infrastructure. Result when trying to leave? Total chaos. If it’s not bad enough having to go there in the first place now it takes two hours to get away!????????@Arsenal

WHL library! Very subdued atmosphere there yesterday. Strange as first Mourinho PL home game

Opinion
Dixon needs to take a closer look at home after calling our stadium a library, ask any football fan worth their salt which stadium resembles a library and they will answer with the Emirates – even their own supporters mocked the atmosphere during the recent League Cup match against Liverpool (The Sun).
