It has been a busy January window for Tottenham Hotspur and Jose Mourinho as the Lilywhites look to rebuild in North London.
Spurs have brought in three new players so far in Gedson Fernandes on loan from Benfica, Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven, and Giovani Lo Celso now on a permanent deal from Real Betis.
However, Tottenham have also waved goodbye to a few players, with Christian Eriksen being the most high-profile outgoing. Danny Rose and Kyle Walker-Peters were also sent out on six-month loans to Newcastle and Southampton respectively.
Rose had been left out of every Tottenham matchday squad since the turn of the year under Jose Mourinho, with the England man having just 18-months left on his contract.
Walker-Peters had struggled for game time since the first three matches of the season under Pochettino.
Eriksen had just six months left on his own Spurs contract, meaning that January was Tottenham’s last real chance to sell up for a profit.
Mourinho addressed all three in his press conference today (Charlie Eccleshare):
Eriksen, six fantastic years at the club. Good luck to him.
Danny is still contracted to us from the end of the season. So we will need to decide what is best for the player and the club. A decision will be made that is best for everyone.
